NEW FOR 2024/25: GOLF ACADEMY BASED AT PROCISION OXFORD
In association with Newbury College, Frilford Golf Club and Procision Oxford Academy we have combined to provide a full-time course for young golfers who can demonstrate significant talent.
This fantastic offering is open to 18+ year olds with substantial raw talent or whose skills show the potential to become a professional golfer or work within the sector of Golf and Sport.
The player is at the centre of the college to allow them to develop their performance whilst continuing their education post 18. This includes for students who want to develop their golf game whilst studying our degree. HNC (L4), HND (L5) or BSc (L6) alongside a full time golf playing timetable. The Procision Golf programme, in conjunction with Procision Oxford, Frilford Heath & Newbury College provides a perfect platform to study this unique blended learning degree.
Procision have an excellent track record for running successful education and sport projects and due to the overwhelming success of the programme we have created this L4, 5 and 6 pathway. This partnership combines the higher education academic expertise of Newbury College with an unrivalled golf development programme that we pride ourselves on here at Procision Oxford.
The partnership between ourselves Frilsford Heath allows us to offer the perfect environment to progress your golfing career along with your academic studies.
For UK based students you are able to apply for a traditional student loan. We have trained staff to be able to help you complete your students loan application and explain all the positive and negative aspects of a student loan. For more information please contact one of our staff members.

We are extremely proud to run a unique and industry-relevant degree programme.
Combine a blended degree with a full time football programme. Degrees on offer include:

HND in Sports Coaching Science
BSc Sport & Coaching Science
These courses provide the whole package, allowing all of our undergraduates to study for an industry-recognised BSc degree, with additional embedded courses, and the opportunity to combine a minimum of 10 hours a week individual golf development.
Our offer to the students that enrol on the course with us:
- Student loan and finance
- full timetable
- full time golf programme. We will be offering the students 3-4 practice sessions per week.
- Gym membership
- A group specific experience to include foreign tours, practice camps and live tournaments.
This is also open to people interested in a role within golf other than playing! Full work experience opportunities alongside the degree include some off the following:

Where will the Degree course take place?
As with the blended learning degrees on offer, all students will benefit from an ongoing enrichment programme, whereby they will be immersed within their chosen golf club and gain priceless hands-on experience; ranging from coaching to interviewing, filming, photography and many other relevant facets.
Our blended degree programme allows you to study a degree alongside your busy
sporting commitments, supporting you to excel in both. Blended learning provides
the perfect combination of online learning, facilitated, timetabled and supported by our tutors
plus a small number of contact days at the Newbury College campus.
Your learning will be supported by a wide range of engaging and interactive online resources, and you will be guided expertly
through the programme by Newbury College lecturers and tutors, as well as by
staff at Procision Oxford and Frilford Heath Golf Club.
You will have your own academic tutor from the college assigned to you, who will liaise
with staff from the club in order to ensure that you are keeping on track to reach your full potential.

These innovative ‘Blended Learning’ will be based at the state of the art facilities of Tilsley Park in Abingdon, Frilford Heath Golf Club, Park Club and the education element can also be accessed anywhere!
The courses were specifically crafted by industry professionals, to provide a cutting-edge academic programme which allowed the elite athletes at to study flexibly around their sporting commitments, to ensure they could reach their true potential in their given sport.
We are delighted to provide a bespoke degree package, which combines online learning with dedicated contact days at the college campus; allowing our students the best experience with both our first-class footballing programme and the educational expertise at the college.

About this course?
You will put your theory into practice through applied studies, placements and assessments. Renowned for our provision of high-quality teaching, your learning will include online lectures, seminars and activities, as well as coaching practice and independent study.
Assessments include a range of essays, projects, presentations and reports. Such diversity will allow you to experience various modes of academic and professional practice, developing your abilities and refining your skills in preparation for your next steps.
We have an excellent support system in place. Academic tutors will work closely with you throughout the duration of your programme, supporting your development and tracking your academic progress to ensure that you achieve your best.

The programme provides opportunities to develop your management skills. You will gain knowledge and understanding of operations, finance, human resources, leadership, quality and finance, which will be applied to sports facilities and events.
Progression opportunities?
Following this programme, many of our successful students have gained employment in sport and leisure management. Alternatively, you may progress on to postgraduate studies at master’s level.

FRILFORD HEATH GOLF CLUB
Home to 3 championship golf courses, Frilford Heath has a place as one of the best golf complex's in the UK.
Frilford Heath Golf Club is located to the South of Oxford on 500 acres of glorious undulating Heathland and is one of the best venues in the south of England; rarely can a golf club offer three championship golf courses (Red, Green and Blue) that allow the opportunity to revel in their classical or modern challenge!
Red Course
The original Red Course was laid out in 1908 by five times Open champion JH Taylor measured 721 yards less than today’s 6915 on its par 72. An authentic championship challenge from the Black Tees, it offers a traditional heathland golfing experience with pushed-up greens that run fast and true and fairways that demand accurate driving if golfers are to score well. The strong stretch between holes 5 and 9 includes four hefty two shot holes and a par three at the 9th that many consider most memorable.
Completing the turn sees no respite, where a finishing stretch matched by very few courses includes seven consecutive par fours to close your round! In 2013 it once again hosted the English Amateur, and has hosted the European Tour 1st Stage Qualifying since 2011.
Green Course
The classical Green Course may be the shortest, at just over 6,000 yards, but its par 69 is no pushover, from the outset it offers its only par five as an opening hole, and birdie opportunities from there on are few and far between. The affectionately known “short 9” of holes 5 to 13 have even after 85 years retained their original layout that includes two exacting Par 3's, a true testament to their designer J H Turner!
Likened to many classical heathland courses the Green course is much more than a noisy neighbour, its layout compliments both of the other golf courses and should not be missed out on.
Blue Course
The Blue Course was designed by Simon Gidman and opened in 1994 with a par 72 scorecard measuring over 6700 yards from the Black Tees. Once you have survived the card threatening water on the early holes, you meander through a number of par four dog legs and four par fives that face in all compass directions, seemingly getting the best of the prevailing westerly. The subtle greens are more undulating than on the two older courses, and offer a number of interesting and challenging flag positions as tested by the PGA Europro Tour who host a televised event each June and for five days every spring the Blue and the Red Course becomes the home of the PGA Europro Tour Qualifying School.

The college’s aim is to become a centre of excellence both on and off site for learning and development within the Sports and Fitness sector.
In 2019 we partnered with Procision Oxford to create our first off site programme for football players and athletes. This has now developed to five full time off site academies in Abingdon, Brackley Evesham, Milton Keynes and Newbury.
We are excited about the brand new golf academy that will enable keen golfers develop on and off the course with our proven methods as well as the expertise of the golf professionals.
